We all know that happy employees are the foundation of a healthy organization, but is there such a thing as a ready-made formula to improve happiness at work? And does the workplace also have an impact on the feeling of happiness? The answer to both questions is yes.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe ABC of happiness at work is a very robust theory,\u201d says Kathleen Vangronsvelt, Professor of Organizational Behavior &amp; HRM at the Antwerp Management School. \u201cThe A stands for autonomy: allow your employees sufficient freedom to make their own decisions and show that you trust them,\u201d she explains.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe B refers to belonging: both with colleagues and with the organization. The C for competence speaks for itself. Give your people the opportunity to utilize and develop their skills. And appreciate them for doing so,\u201d continues Kathleen, whose area of expertise focuses on the realization of human potential in a work context. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf you fulfill those three primary conditions, the chance is greatest that your employees will also feel fulfilled,\u201d she concludes. You can create smart flows throughout the space. \u201cWhen people walk through a place where others are taking a break after a meeting, you make interaction possible at the right moment,\u201d says Kathleen.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nathalie adds: \u201cWe always provide layouts and furniture that invite employees to approach each other in an informal way. This can range from cozy seating areas by the coffee machine to multifunctional spaces where different teams and colleagues meet.\u201d The living room in Argenta&#8217;s new headquarters is a great example of this: both management and employees regularly work together there in a cozy setting. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pga.nl\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/free_xxl\/public\/2023-09\/20jaarBP_collega_afterwork26.jpg?itok=KQ7WfTrg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-5bbe6e16 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60-30);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60-30)\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-column-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading secTitle has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-heading-two-font-size wp-elements-322a23778a776dcce6f277ce4da6cc32\" style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px\">Good equipment is key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-218c5d9d7384ff487c8c9f3a49a90bf2\">\u201cWhen you provide your staff with a well-equipped workplace full of quality materials, you make the development of competencies much easier,\u201d says Kathleen.
