A sophisticated work environment where Japan and the Netherlands converge
For Mizuho Bank, PGA Totaalinrichters realized the complete project furnishing of the new office at the Zuidas in Amsterdam. The project, completed in May 2020, is located on the third floor of the Atrium and covers an office area of approximately 1,800 m².
The transformation of the office, designed by Claessens Erdmann architects & designers, was also featured by ToBuild. The interior exudes tranquility, elegance, and professionalism, while warm materials and subtle color accents create a pleasant and inviting atmosphere within the building’s corporate context.
By combining rich wood textures with light details, an interior was created in which serenity and functionality naturally come together. An environment that perfectly aligns with the international image of Mizuho Bank as a leading financial institution.
“Japanese sophistication meets Dutch design.”
CLAESSENS ERDMANN – Architecture and interior concept
An office environment with warmth and refinement
Although the project is located within a distinctly corporate environment, the interior feels warm and accessible. The combination of high-quality materials, refined details, and soft color accents creates a pleasant balance between professionalism and comfort.
The open spaces were designed with great attention to tranquility, focus, and discretion. At the same time, the carefully developed meeting zones and conference rooms ensure a natural flow within the office.
PGA Totaalinrichters ensured that the entire furnishing perfectly matched the architectural vision of Claessens Erdmann. Every element within the interior contributes to an environment that feels international, elegant, and human at the same time.

An international project at the Amsterdam Zuidas
Mizuho Bank’s new office is located in the Atrium at the Zuidas, the financial heart of Amsterdam. This location provides the perfect setting for an international financial player with a global presence and a strong connection between Japan and Europe.
The dialogue between two cultures was central to the design. Japanese precision and sophistication were combined with the openness and clarity of Dutch design. This translates into an interior that feels both understated and full of character.
The use of natural materials and a carefully developed layout creates a work environment that radiates calm within the dynamics of an international financial setting.

A total realization through strong collaboration
For the realization of this project, there was close collaboration with various specialized partners. While Claessens Erdmann was responsible for the architectural concept, PGA Totaalinrichters handled the complete project furnishing of the office.
Partner Smeulders Interieurgroep was responsible for the production of the fixed interior. By aligning all disciplines from the start, a harmonious whole was created in which architecture, interior, and functionality converge perfectly.
The end result is a high-quality work environment that strengthens Mizuho Bank’s international identity while creating a pleasant space for employees and visitors.
